You know how when people have kids, a lot of the time all they do is post cute pictures and anecdotes about their children on their blogs? Well, some people find that annoying, but I certainly don't. That was exactly what I had in mind when I started this blog! I figured blogging wouldn't be hard anymore because I could just blog about Felicity. Sorted! And no one could be annoyed about it if I was clear that that was what I intended to do. Yay! (of course I knew not enough people would actually read the blog for there to be people to be annoyed about me going on and on about my baby. So, no worries.)
But.
See, there's a "but".
Baby blog? What Baby blog? Where are the cute pictures? Where are the cute anecdotes? Where are the posts of any kind? Not here. Apparently I'm just not a blogger. I'm a thinker. I think a lot. I feel a lot. I want to share what I think and feel a lot. But then I get to thinking about what I can share about what I think and how I feel. I usually decide that what I feel is not for sharing. Then I think about what I think about and can't pick anything there that is worth sharing. Then if I do pick something to share...WELL, what a chore it is to put into words. Gosh, it takes me forever. More thinking than typing goes on I can tell you. So actually... I'm not really a thinker. I'm an OVERthinker. Yes, I knew that, and if you're reading this, chances are you already knew that too. Gosh, that overthinking is crippling stuff. If I let it be. Which of course I do. :) I'm so good at it.
I need to be more interesting so I can be better at blogging. :) How's that for a plan?
P.S.
As for the baby:
Today she sucked her thumb! Oh dear. Got her second batch of immunisations. Oh dear. Is sleeping a lot. Good. (I think. Helps her get over those shots. I hope.)
She was wanting to suck a lot last night. She kept pulling my fingers into her mouth. I tried her with some teethers but they're a bit too big for her mouth. She sucked on her fist quite a bit and found her fingers a couple times. This morning she was finding her thumb more often than not. Eeek! I put her pacifier in, went to get ready for my shower, came back to check on her and she'd spat out the pacifier and put her thumb back in. Aack! That happened a few times this morning. The me checking on her and finding her thumb in her mouth part. Apparently while I was in the shower she was sucking on her thumb and Hayden took it out saying "No thumb" (or something like that), to which she looked up at him and whimpered! Oh no! We may have a thumb sucker on our hands. We'll wait and see.

Well, I was a thumbsucker and your sister was a thumbsucker. So maybe she got some genes we left floating in the pool.
ReplyDeleteHurry and get baby a passport! Love you!
Hayden sucked his thumb til pretty late too.
ReplyDeleteHer British passport has arrived! Yay! If I had my birth certificate I think we could send off for her American one and still travel (because I could send that instead of my passport, I think). I feel like maybe mom gave me my birth certificate but I couldn't find it with the other things she gave me, so maybe she didn't.
You don't need to be more interesting, you just need to stop worrying about being interesting. All you have to do is post a picture of your amazing offspring and we're all like best. blog. ever! She is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAs for the thumbsucking, I guess everyone was right, she does take after Melece! You'll have to put her in those outfits with the hand hiders so she can't find her thumb. Happy 3 months, Froggie!
